On this occasion, seven designers, profoundly rooted in Italy, have been invited to present a small collection inspired by Rome and the richness of its cultural, historical and popular heritage.
Gentucca Bini, Lanzavecchia + Wai, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, Paola Navone, Patricia Urquiola, Stefano Giovannoni, Zanellato / Bortotto are the protagonists of LOCAL ICONS. Greetings from Rome,the new project born a collaboration between the MAXXI and Alcantara.
Filtering their experience of the eternal city through symbols, thoughts and images chosen from a traditional repertory, objects are created that speak different idioms thanks to Alcantara’s extraordinary capacity for interpretation.
